NBA 2Kfans can officially get started building their MyPLAYER forNBA 2K27with the launch of theNBA 2K HQapp. The companion app built forNBA 2K27grants full access to the new game's MyPLAYER Builder, allowing fans to set up their player's stats, position, badges, and more.NBA 2K HQserves as a replacement for the franchise'sMyNBA2Kapp used for previous games, allowing fans to share theirNBA 2Kplayer buildswith one another via QR code, manage their Crew through the app, and claim new app-exclusive daily login rewards that will transfer toNBA 2K27. TheNBA 2K HQapp is available now on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, whileNBA 2K27is scheduled to launch on September 4.

NBA 2K HQaims to help players to navigate a drastically overhauled MyPLAYER system forNBA 2K27. The newest game is introducing 19 newMyPLAYER Badges forNBA 2Kfansto use for their in-game builds, bringing the total to 53, alongside the new Synergy system rewarding fans for combining specific badges. MyPLAYER is also adding the ability for fans to create female players for the first time, adopting the same system for building female players as their male counterparts. Visual Concepts even made significant improvements to the facial scanner forNBA 2Kplayers, refining the system for greater skin detail and texture mapping.

NBA 2K27's new MyPLAYER improvements are far from the only big changes coming to the game. Visual Concepts is pushing several adjustments to the franchise's on-court gameplay forNBA 2K27, including improvements to AI defense and a new dynamic Dunk Meter. MyNBA is making several changes to add more real-world elements of managing the league in the newest iteration of the game mode, including the introduction of updates to the collective bargaining agreement and no-trade clauses for players.Fans ofNBA 2K's MyCAREERand The City will have new places to take their in-game MyPLAYERs as well, including a new nighttime design and a new area for The City.

NBA 2K27has also shown off which stars will grace the covers of the game's different release editions.San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyamawill star on the Standard Edition of the game, fresh off a run to the NBA Finals during the 2025-26 season. WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark became the first female player to appear on anNBA 2Kcover on the Deluxe Edition, while retired NBA star Derrick Rose appears on the limited Ultra Edition of the game.
